Today was Customer Appreciation Day at Reddi-Arts ~ there were several art supply vendors doing demonstrations and giving away free supplies (squee!) and lots of deep discounts on everything in the store. I bought metallic acrylic paint (in gold, red and pearl white), acrylic ink, a large mixed-media journal, a set of Heritage A-Line Alcohol Markers and some gorgeous silver cloisonne' butterfly earrings. There were also free fine art classes all day, but I didn't take any as I had other errands to run (Bath & Body Works and Chico's ~ ask me about my new blingy jeans).
My free SWAG haul from the art supply vendors. Swoon.
Now, to play!

I am participating in The Tao of Dana's Artists Way Group, based upon Julia Cameron's The Artist's Way. The book study began on October 1st and includes morning pages = stream of consciousness journaling each morning but, due to my surgery, I was only able to start last night. And only did two pages as opposed to the suggested three. Baby steps. This re-reading of The Artist's Way could not have come at a more perfect time and I am ready to dive in to it and whatever truths I am ready to embrace.
Week 41 was consumed with a long-needed (and already transformative) surgery so the single 12' x 12' page suited this week. The flip side necessitates another single 12' x 12' spread for this week (42), which is dedicated to healing my body, expanding my mind and the practice of art.

I'm really enjoying seeing how other artists are using their right brain planners at https://www.facebook.com/groups/320654451408908/♡ I use mine as a combination art journal, day planner, glue book, diary, inspiration board and doodle repository.

I love fall for so many reasons, including Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte! (I also love the Toffee Nut Latte they roll out after Thanksgiving.) || Chloe had a great time at a friend's bowling-themed birthday party. Dylan is still a big fan of Minecraft, playing the game, watching other gamers play on You Tube and snatching up all the Minecraft-themed merchandise he can find. I'm still enjoying my Studio Calico Monthly Project Life kits and am committed to using the product more in future. It's hard to believe I'll be starting a new Project Life book for 2014 soon!

Mystical white horse, infused with the magic of a unicorn, lend me your grace.

There is something therapeutic about cutting and pasting ~ tactile, soothing, with a clear progression ~ the right brain whispering to the left. The communication between the two is where creativity arises and from which the most transformative ideas arise.
